Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer at Supy, you'll be part of the development team building and scaling our core platform. You'll design, develop, and maintain the services, APIs, and data layers that power our product, and you'll collaborate closely with product, frontend, and other engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that make a real impact for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java, TypeScript, and NodeJS.

• Write clean, well-structured code following DDD, Hexagonal architecture, and established design patterns.

• Design and optimize data models and queries, with a focus on performance and reliability (MongoDB).

• Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems such as POS, accounting, and ERP platforms.

• Own services end to end, from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support.

AI & Innovation

• Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance development workflows and product capabilities.

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the team.

Collaboration & Growth

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features that directly impact customers.

• Share knowledge, contribute to code reviews, and help raise the bar across the engineering team.

• Continuously develop your skills through hands-on experience and a culture of learning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.

• Strong proficiency in Java and/or NodeJS with TypeScript.

• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with microservices.

• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

• Strong grasp of DDD, Hexagonal architecture, and design patterns.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Python experience is a plus.

• Solid understanding of version control using Git.
