Role Overview

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Supy, you will own the reliability, performance, and recoverability of the data systems that power our platform. You will work across databases and streaming systems running on Kubernetes, keeping them healthy, scalable, and well-monitored.
This is a remote role and a great opportunity for an experienced reliability engineer to own critical infrastructure at a fast-growing SaaS company.

Key Responsibilities

Data Systems

  • Own the availability, performance, capacity, and upgrades of our databases and streaming systems.

  • Optimize queries, indexing, and resource usage in collaboration with product teams.

Backup & Recovery

  • Own backup, restore testing, and recovery objectives across all data systems.

Monitoring & Reliability

  • Define SLOs and build proactive monitoring and alerting.

  • Run load testing and performance tuning.

Operations

  • Write and maintain runbooks for our data systems.

  • Take part in on-call for the data layer.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience operating stateful systems in production.

  • Deep hands-on expertise in at least three of the following: Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, ScyllaDB or Cassandra, and Kafka.

  • Experience running databases on Kubernetes using operators (e.g. CNPG, Percona, Strimzi).

  • Real experience restoring production systems from backup.

  • Strong performance tuning and capacity planning skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with NATS JetStream.

  • Experience with Flink or change data capture pipelines.

  • Knowledge of database security and access controls.

  • AI-native mindset: you use AI tools as part of your daily workflow.
